Coimbatore call taxi guys should visit Chennai to know the tariff. The charges are not fixed at all for the private taxis and the meters they have fixed show their own imaginary figures. I happened to use a dozen of taxi operators for my weekend stay at Coimbatore, and ended up paying heavily.

The Non A/C Omni’s charges are atrocious – Rs. 40 for first 2 Kms and every additional Km they charge Rs.15. This is about 50% extra compared to Chennai’s Fast Track prices. The other new operators like “Taxi Taxi” provide very good cars like Ford Fiesta A/C for the same price but never stick to the time we book them. Overall, The Taxi experience in Coimbatore was horrible! The small dusty roads added fuel to the fury! 

So guys, be careful when you use a taxi in Coimbatore, enquire the prices before you get in and also note down the Odometer reading while starting your journey & finishing it + Never trust the taxi meters!
