I did a Chennai – Bangalore trip in my Spark and found one of the rear door refusing to open from inside, but it just worked fine from outside. I thought it was some minor repair due to closing the door heavily, but, after a week I found the other door also to be in the same condition. This really worried me as I had to get down every time to open the door for back seat passengers.
I tried to explore it myself, so, removed the screws on the left rear and tried random hitting and clicking which resulted in vain. Then, when I carefully tried to re-fix the screw, I failed miserably. With no option left I took the car to my mechanic and found how Ignorant I was!
Someone had turned the Child lock on !
I never knew that my car had a child lock in it. Mechanic just charged me Rs.30 to do the screw properly which I messed due to over enthusiasm! So guys, be familiar with all the features in your car and other gadgets you buy, this can really keep you away from unnecessary stress! :P - This was after all Child Lock Ignorance.
