How to reset BSNL's Wifi Password?

I recently rented an apartment and my landlord was kind enough to let me continue using his BSNL broadband connection. The trouble came when he told me that he doesn't know the Wifi password! how useless is it to have a broadband without wifi? I cannot connect my office laptop and smart phone.

When I approached BSNL customer care, I just got the same old answer of bring your modem to our office and we'll figure it out. That is when I googled and found this simple solution!

Switch on your wifi modem and connect it to your laptop or desktop using the ethernet cable. (this is mandatory)
Type http://192.168.1.1 in your internet browser
This will prompt you to enter username and password. 99% of BSNL's modem come with default credentials as "admin" for username and password. So enter "admin" in both the fields.
This will open up the modem configuration web page in your browser from where you can find out the Password for Wifi under Wireless>Security and also reset it.
Unfortunately, If you fall in rest 1% of the population , don't worry Google still throws results!

BSNL's helpline numbers:
Land line -198 / 1500
Broadband -1504
Mobile -1503
Leased Line -12676

Sorry mate, then you should probably google for some other solution. The above method worked for me and many other.. Try youtubing it.

I'm too having the same problem as Kamlesh. Do we have to enter the username and password that we use when we connect to that network from a mobile ?

Anoushka, I don't think the username and Password you use to access Wifi from mobile can be used to access this dashboard. Usually the BSNL technician writes this password in the box in which your modem is packed.

even for bsnl it will work. i am having asus modem, where i have used this option to reset my wireless password, and connected my mobile with new password.

bro. it is very helpful i have tried it once but when i wanted to try it again it does't worked. :'( 192.62.1.1 doesn't open only. browsers says that "Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to 192.62.1.1 Try reloading: 192.62.1.1" please tell any solution.
