I'll never go back to this restaurant.. ever. Trust me it is one of the worst in ECR off late. I was here with my cousins on Diwali day for lunch. Some 60% of the seats were occupied and we chose to sit in the Non-AC section. There were some 50 crows flying over the table-umbrellas to steal the food.
A lady with her two kids in the next table was literally combating to keep the food off from the crows and the wonderful waiters just kept watching until I shouted at them to help her.
We placed order for a Sweet corn chicken soup, Sea food platter, Chicken lolly pop & 2 cans of coke (We did not prefer buffet as it had only chicken biriyani and fish fry). We then decided to move inside the closed area 'cos of the crows and were walking up and down the restaurant for about 15 mins, None of the managers, supervisors or the waiters came forward to help us find a seat, every one was 'Zombified' and were walking and staring slowly at struggling customers. There were quite a few like us.
Finally after 30 mins of visiting the restaurant we found a table and got seated. I requested the waiters twice to clean the table and serve water, after 40 mins we got 2 cans of coke. There was already much commotion inside the restaurant as people started complaining about cold food and late service. We still did not lose hope, waited patiently for another 10 mins, that is when the waiter who took our order looked at us and panicked, I think he never placed our order, he ran back to the kitchen which already looked like a Ration shop with other waiters fighting over to collect the dishes.
I politely collected my belongings, walked to the asst. manager and requested a bill for 2 cans of coke. He tried his best to persuade me to wait a little longer and enjoy the food. But, Sir, do you think I can 'enjoy' my food after being hungry for an hour?
I said I'm sorry but would like to leave the restaurant as we are already frustrated and any road side shop would serve us better. He said I can take the 2 cans of coke as compliment. I don't think there would have been a greater shame if I had accepted that complimentary coke. I walked with him to the billing room and requested a bill, which they could not print even after 10 mins, the man inside the billing room was "More Zombified" than others.
I paid Rs. 160 to the manager as I could not wait for the bill any longer and left the place, he said not to carry this "Bad experience" with me but to come back on a "Full Moon Day" for a beach side moon light dinner. Thank you sir.
So, Diwali lunch at Sea Crest was 2 cans of Coke for Rs. 160 in 1 hr 15 mins. Can this get any better?
Fortunately it did, we drove another 15 kms to L'attitude 49 and had a sumptuous late lunch. Thank you MGM and Sea Crest for a memorable Diwali lunch and introducing a wonderful restaurant.
